Fuel rates foods on a scale of 0 to 3. 3’s are the healthiest food you can eat, while 0’s have no nutritional value. Fuel encourages you to eat more 2’s and 3’s and less 0’s and 1’s.

FALSE: In order to be healthy, you must eat all 3’s.

It is important to know that foods rated a 3 are the healthiest and foods rated a 0 are not the most healthy for you. Fuel your body with more fresh food and less processed food (farm fresh, factory fake) and also remember to eat a variety of foods (foods from all different food groups).
Fuel offers you the truth about the foods you eat and gives you the ability to make smart choices. By eating to live, you are ensuring that your body gets the nutrients it needs to stay energized, healthy, and happy.

FACT: Fuel uses six easy principles to help rate foods.

1st principle: eat more fresh foods and less processed foods
2nd principle: increase daily intake of whole grains, vegetables, fruits, and fat-free and low-fat milk products
3rd principle: eat foods that provide more potassium, dietary fiber, calcium, and vitamin D
4th principle: daily intake of sugar sweetened beverages, sodium, dietary cholesterol, solid fats, added sugars, and refined grains
5th principle: consume less saturated and trans fatty acids and increase monounsaturated and polyunsaturated fatty acids
6th principle: choose a variety of protein foods and vegetables
